How to Cocktail: Isaiah Rynders

This savory take on the Dark and Stormy has quite a punch—just like its namesake. Watch top bartender Jack McGarry of The Dead Rabbit in New York show you how to make this powerful cocktail.

INGREDIENTS:
1.5 oz Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey
1 oz Cardamaro
.5 oz Connemara Cask Strength Peated Irish Whiskey
.75 oz Fresh lime juice
.75 oz Ginger syrup*
3 dashes The Dead Rabbit Orinoco Bitters
.5 tsp Tamarind chutney
Vanilla soda

Garnish: Freshly grated nutmeg
Glass: Highball

PREPARATION:
Add all ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously, and strain into a highball glass containing with one large ice cube. Top with vanilla soda and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.

*Ginger syrup:

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Honey
.5 cup Ginger juice, freshly pressed

PREPARATION:
Combine the ginger juice with the honey and stir well until the honey is fully dissolved. Bottle the mixture and store, refrigerated, up to two weeks.
