How to Cocktail: Head of Steam

This Irish twist on the traditional Manhattan is the perfect cocktail for rye drinkers to make the transition to Irish whiskey. It’s also one of Jack McGarry’s most popular drinks at The Dead Rabbit in New York.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1.5 oz Jameson Black Barrel Irish Whiskey
  • 1 oz Noilly Prat Ambre Vermouth
  • .5 oz Pedro Ximénez Sherry
  • 4 dashes The Dead Rabbit Orinoco Bitters
  • 4 dashes Molé bitters
  • Garnish: Expressed oils from an orange peel
  • Glass: Cocktail

PREPARATION:
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Express the oils of an orange peel over the glass and discard.
