Curbside Cocktails: La Bandera

Mexico City Tequila

In Mexico City’s main square, Plaza de la Constitución (commonly known as El Zócalo), Limantour bartender René Fuentes makes this beautiful tequila cocktail, La Bandera (“The Flag” in Spanish), inspired by the colors of the Mexican flag.

La Bandera

  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz lavender syrup*
  • 1 1/2 oz jícama juice
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila plata
  • 6 drops jamaica (hibiscus) bitters

Garnish: Mint leaf
Glass: Coupe

*Lavender syrup: Combine 1L of sugar, 1L of water and 6 drops of lavender oil.
