Twisted Horn

Twisted Horn

The oft-overlooked Petworth neighborhood received a much welcome new hub in Twisted Horn. It’s a project from the team behind the popular Hank’s family of restaurants and chef Jamie Leeds. It’s housed in a converted church, and the vibes are decidedly dim and dark, although still welcoming. The cocktail names may leave you puzzled over movie and pop culture references—Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner, Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself, Stuck In the ’90s—but hold up on their own merits, too. The food menu is bar friendly, with sharable, affordable small plates, along with several heartier alternatives.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: Try the Love Below, made with mezcal, Lillet Rouge, peach liqueur, demerara, Creole bitters and lemon, balanced just right between smoky and sweet.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: All spirits are well-represented with nearly 20 house cocktails, so you’re set whether you prefer whiskey, rum, vodka, gin, tequila or mezcal.
