The Rag Trader

Taking over a sprawling Midtown space that originally housed a garment factory, this multi-room/multi-experience labyrinth takes on two related concepts. The Rag Trader is the main floor restaurant. Diners enjoy elevated comfort food and clever cocktails, opting to nosh alfresco or in salons like The Sketch Corner or The Hat Box with appropriate vintage bric-a-brac inspired by the Garment District’s heritage. Downstairs is Bo Peep Cocktail & Highball Store, a lush speakeasy/piano bar where guests lounge in purple velvet seats, sipping Highballs, Sours and Tiki riffs. For dessert, don’t miss the booze-and-cream-stuffed Drunkin’ Donuts.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: The vibe here is sexy and throwback whimsical, so play along. The Cat’s Meow consists of rosé Champagne, blanc vermouth, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit and bitters.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Try and snag seats inside the Volkswagen Microbus / Street Taco mini-branch.
