Neighborhood Restaurant Group‘s Partisan is most known for its stellar globe-spanning wine list. Beyond hundreds of bottles, there are several dozen by the glass, as well. Don’t automatically overlook a stocked beer list or the generally creative and well-made cocktails either. And what’s that? A sneaky good whiskey list, with a focus on American whiskeys and hard-to-find pours from Willett and Buffalo Trace. The bar is adjoined with a butcher shop, Red Apron, and in addition to a full dining menu offers dozens of charcuterie selections to pair with all of the above.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: Pair a luscious charcuterie board with a salty cocktail, the Rise Above, made with Rittenhouse rye, Solståndet aquavit, Cardamaro, Cocchi Americano and salt.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: What’s all this about orange wine? It’s basically would-be white wine that receives an orange hue after maceration with the grape’s skins. Try a few in small one-ounce tasting pours.
