WHY HERE: This standby has been Philly’s preeminent agave spirits den for well over 30 years. A recurring Tequila Night features a three-course chef’s tasting menu and sampling of various tequilas and mezcals for $70.

WHY NOW: Owner David Suro-Piñera touts an incredible immigrant success story. The Guadalajara native moved to a Mexican enclave of Philadelphia in the ’80s and at 23 bought out the only Mexican restaurant in town to open Tequilas and share his love for the agave he had grown up with.
