WHY HERE: Located in a cocktail supplies shop, all four floors of this Japanese-inspired speakeasy feature a different theme. One level showcases lively cocktails and dance music, while another is more intimate and focuses on wine and classic drinks. Just keep in mind that as the floors get higher, the prices do too.
WHY NOW: Famous bartender Shingo Gokan opened this joint in the Huangpu district after doing a stint in NYC at Angel’s Share. Along with his years of experience, the bartender also brought tipples such as the Banana Fostered Fashioned (banana-infused white rum, chocolate bitters, brown sugar, cinnamon, cherry and vanilla flambé). If you’re super nice, you might even get invited to the secluded Japanese whisky den hidden behind the bar on the second floor.
