Voted one of the best lounges in SF, SIP Bar & Lounge doesn’t fail to impress. The patriotic nightclub is decorated to the nines but couldn’t be further from pretentious. Better yet, there’s no dress code and usually no entry fee. The quirky artwork amongst the serious furniture hints that the bartenders will be at once professional and welcoming––and they know how to prepare some of the best libations in the city. The menu is pages long, organized by spirit with a signature cocktail section not to be missed. While bigger than the city’s speakeasies of equal reputation, SIP Bar & Lounge still isn’t huge and entry is limited to give the thirsty enough space to mingle. Pro tip: arrive early or, better, make reservations to guarantee entry and get access to the Hancock Room too.
