Chef and pioneer Traci Des Jardins utilizes The Pearl’s event space for her new bar, School Night. All cocktails are $12, and all but one dish is under $17. The low-key Dogpatch bar serves Mexican and Peruvian food. The roomy concrete and steel space is warmed by woods, while bar manager and Peruvian native Enrique Sanchez (who heads up Des Jardins’ Arguello bar program) shows off pisco alongside agave spirits and American whiskey.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: The Purple Haze showcase Peruvian chicha morada (a spiced purple corn juice) with pisco, orange liqueur, lime and amaro.
