Brookland gets a boost from this French wine bar and bistro from wife-and-husband team Lauren Winter and Sebastian Zutant. Zutant is a former partner in The Red Hen, and Winter is a designer. The duo partnered with the team of chef Nathan Beauchamp and Greg Algie, behind spots such as The Fainting Goat and Tiger Fork. In other words, the space is beautiful, the food is excellent, and the drinks selection is superb. Expect a deep list of French natural wines, including many pours by the glass.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: French-inspired cocktails are also available, such as La Belle, with Lillet blanc apéritif and St-Germain elderflower liqueur, refreshingly mixed with raspberry, lemon and soda.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: There are 20 wines by the glass, all at $14 or less and spanning a broad stylistic range of reds, whites and bubbles. Choose wisely.
