Since 2007, Please Don’t Tell has been one of New York’s most iconic bars and worst-kept secrets, with a speakeasy-style secret entrance through a faux phone booth within Crif Dogs next door. This was the bar known for introducing fat-washing to bars everywhere and continues to be an influential force in the bar scene.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: Benton’s Old Fashioned (bacon-infused Four Roses bourbon, grade B maple syrup, Angostura bitters). Hard to believe it’s still on the menu, but you’ll be glad it is.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Hot dogs and tater tots supplied by Crif Dogs next door pair surprisingly well with cocktails.
