WHY HERE: A couple of veteran New Orleans bartenders gave this Cuban-inspired spot a leg up from the start. Like the bar itself, the menu is tiny. It features almost exclusively classic rum sippers like the Hotel Nacional, El Presidente and Papa Doble (aka Hemingway Daiquiri) and is rounded out with a Basque-style “thrown” Martini.

WHY NOW: Though Latin-inspired cocktail joints are having a bit of a moment, it’s surprising there aren’t more quality spots in NOLA. Manolito stands a good chance of a long, prosperous run.
