Opened by Paul McGee in the dead of winter 2015, this cozy Tiki den made the James Beard shortlist for outstanding bar program its first year and for good reason. The Polynesian-themed parlor is inviting and fun, staffers’ rum game is on point, and every drink is a succinct tribute to the bygone era of teeny paper umbrellas.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: Start with the signature Lost Lake: aged Jamaican rum, passion fruit, lime, pineapple, maraschino and Campari liqueur.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: year after opening, a serious kitchen fire gutted Thank You, the bar’s adjoining Chinese takeout window. But as of last summer, it’s back and more delicious than ever.
