Straight from Chicago comes this event space/evening of drinking. For $70 or so per person (it varies per class), you and a group of DIY drinkers are guided in constructing (and enjoying) four fairly complex cocktails. You’ll receive all the ingredients and learn cool techniques in shaking, stirring, straining and more from some of the city’s top guest bartenders. Whiskey, wine and craft beer tastings also take place, as do classes on Japanese ice carving. Small bites or a tasty buffet are available each class.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: It varies each night and with each instructor. When founder and chief cocktail officer Freddie hosted recently, guests savored a Spicy Mezcal Margarita served up in a frozen red bell pepper.
