Library of Distilled Spirits

The sheer breadth and depth of spirits today can be overwhelming. Enter California transplant Kyle Tran and his well-trained team who have opened up the spacious Library in Union Square. More than 1,200 different spirits are elegantly displayed on shelves throughout the space, and a multi-volume encyclopedia (plus a learned waitstaff) makes sense of it all. The cocktail menu features popular and obscure classics, alongside seasonally updated signature drinks.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: The options are, quite literally, encyclopedic. Consider starting with the Amped Up Rum & Coke featuring three styles of rum, Mexican Coca-Cola and Branca Menta.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The bar serves some small bites but is also affiliated with the new Bowery Road, a market-driven American brasserie next door.
