WHY HERE: It’s a dive bar, sports bar, after-work bar and tourist bar all in one spot. This narrow hole-in-the-wall Times Square institution is wallpapered with photos and memorabilia of boxing legends. Despite being in the thick of it and often crowded (especially on game nights), this is actually an oasis from the bustle outside.
WHY NOW: The bar was opened almost 50 years ago by an actual boxer (James Lee Glen). You’ll find a jazzy jukebox and a happy hour that improves on already surprisingly tame prices for the area.
