WHY HERE: There aren’t a ton of Caribbean-influenced cocktail spots in town, so it’s even more impressive to have a spot that creates its own jerk chicken (and lobster) and serves curry goat with a festively crafted mixed drink.

WHY NOW: It got a sunny Caribbean makeover in 2014 and continues to please with boozy classics like the Painkiller (Pusser’s rum, coconut cream, pineapple and nutmeg) and very popular Dark ’n Slushie, a frozen variant on the popular drink. The bar’s sister spot on Rogers Avenue, Glady’s Jerk Center, recently closed for a reboot.
