George Washington Bar

George Washington Bar

The classy mezzanine-level GW Bar occupies a former library, juxtaposing dark mahogany paneling, an exposed (but not operational) fireplace and a vintage bar with midcentury seating and contemporary art. Sophisticated drinks (separated into categories like “sours,” “apéritifs” and “long drinks”) come from head bartender Ben Rojo (formerly at Angel’s Share) and a small bites menu (think salted pretzel and American caviar with honey butter) from executive chef Matt Griffin.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: The Nothing Gold Can Stay is a low-ABV cocktail consisting of dry vermouth, plum sake and Bénédictine liqueur and garnished with a sakura flower.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: An outpost of Miami’s Broken Shaker bar has just opened on the rooftop this May./p>
