Dutch Fred’s

Dutch Fred’s

Dutch Fred was a police officer, often credited with naming Hell’s Kitchen. Drawing influences from owners Michael and Pat McNamee’s assumption that Fred might get homesick for his motherland of the Netherlands, the spacious bar/restaurant reflects elements of the country (blue mosaic tile floors and arches), old-school Hell’s Kitchen (tin ceilings) and contemporary Broadway (with drinks named the Hamilton and Kinky Boots).

THE DRINK TO DRINK: The Astaire Sipper is a classic Boulevardier featuring bourbon , Campari, sweet vermouth and mole bitters.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Though there are three distinct rooms, the bar is small, and the whole space can fill up fast.
