It seems that whatever acclaimed chef Paul Kahan and his partners behind One Off Hospitality touch turns to gold. This ’50s-inspired Mexican diner (with a retro jukebox!) is no exception. Open from breakfast to beyond dinner, Dove’s has some of the best Southwestern-inspired Mexican food in town. But you’re here to drink, right? Offering an extensive tequila and cocktail list crafted by a trio of cocktail specialists, including a partner from Violet Hour, this 41-seat spot with a wraparound counter mixes up drinks something special. Get a Bloody Maria made with Hacienda Reposado and Dove’s house mix and some other crafty ingredients while you marvel at the list of small-batch, estate-grown tequilas and mezcals. Then back it up with a Pacifico draft. Life is good.
THE DRINK TO DRINK:
Made with Lunazul Blanco tequila, fresh citrus, Squirt and salt and served in an imported Mexican clay mug, the Cantarito is like a breakfast Margarita—but one that can be drunk any time of day.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Come in for the tequila and chile rellenos, but save room for pie and ice cream.
