A newcomer to the Chicago scene, Dive Bar looks and feels like you’ve stepped inside a seaside beach shack. With repurposed shipping containers that cleverly hide the bathroom, reclaimed mismatched woods, a tall bar featuring a sliding ladder and even portholes, you can’t help but drink nautically. Dive Bar comes from the team behind other Boystown staples Minibar and D.S. Tequila Company, so expect some pretty-strong well-made cocktails from the 141 rums in stock. The colorful tiki menu lays out nearly 30 mostly rum-based drinks and 64 frozen cocktails and even showcases the type of playful glass your cocktail will arrive in.
THE DRINK TO DRINK:
The Summer Lei is made with spiced Bacardi Oakheart, simple syrup, muddled limes and cherries and garnished with an orchid to give customers a Hawaii vibe.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
All the specialty cocktails are doubles. Keep that in mind as you chug. Go during weekend brunch for a great deal: a specialty cocktail and three mimosas for $14.
