Upstairs on the fifth floor of the Hotel Zelos, Dirty Habit is one of the great restaurants and bars downtown. The superb lineup of cocktails is courtesy of bar manager Brian Means, who selects a thoughtful, broad range of whiskies in all categories. Though the Habit stocks nearly 500 whiskies, 100 of them alone are bourbon. Sip bourbon joys like Wild Turkey Rare Breed, cask strength treat Roughstock Single Barrel Bourbon from Montana, or the NorCal local Sonoma Distilling’s West of Kentucky bourbon.

On the current menu, try Canary vs. the Coal Mine, an intriguing cocktail featuring Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Cocchi Rosa, house-made rock-and-rye and—wait for it—activated charcoal.
