Almost three decades old, this dark DJ bar is so beloved its landlords called off the decision to close it over the winter due to protests from regulars. Laid out in an old railroad apartment, the floors creak under nightly dance parties, and the candlelit bar serves a small but decent selection of basic drinks and beers.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: Stick with a highball. This is dive-bar territory.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Depending on who’s spinning, Danny’s can get really, really crowded—and really, really fun.
