No wonder Cindy’s is jammed whenever there’s fair weather. Perched atop the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel, its open-air terrace offers stunning views of Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. Fortunately, the drinks are worth braving the crowds. The detailed menu of “potions, elixirs, apothecaries, tisanes and mocktails” was designed by Violet Hour and Big Star alum Nandini Khaund, whose apt title is spirit guide.

THE DRINK TO DRINK: Aegean Sea: a white Negroni finished with pinecone sap from the Alps.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Cindy’s attracts a downtown see-and-be-seen crowd come nightfall. If possible, visit before sunset—unless that’s your thing, of course.
