The 213 Group runs many of downtown LA’s top bars, including the spots with the best whiskey and tequila selections in town (Seven Grand and Las Perlas, respectively), so it’s no surprise that LA’s longest rum list comes from another of its fine establishments. Caña is not a tiki bar per se; it serves rum drinks of all kinds, from the Mojito to the Daiquiri, and has more modest and kitsch-free décor.
THE DRINK TO DRINK:
You can’t go wrong with a classic Daiquiri. Ask your bartender to choose a rum to use based on your personal tastes.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Caña is technically a private club, but memberships cost just $20 a year (all of which is donated to charity) and can be purchased at the door. Members can attend complimentary rum tastings held monthly and may bring up to seven guests per visit.
