While the West Loop's Restaurant Row has authentic Mexican food at Perez, Bar Takito added a chef-driven spot with a superb tequila list and cocktails focused on seasonal ingredients. Chef David Dworshak (Carnivale, Spring) and general manager Adam Weber (Trenchermen) work in tandem to craft a symbiotic food and beverage program that lets ingredients really, truly shine. The 50-bottle tequila list takes center stage and is even integrated into some food items. The pair has a good ole time with their cocktails, adding names like Milky Guey and Thyme is of the Effervescence.

The Avocado Shake showcases the bar's collaboration with the kitchen. The cocktail has cilantro, coriander, avocado and yogurt whey for a little tartness, all blended with El Mayor blanco and Chareau Aloe Vera liqueur.

You may be tempted to stick with a basic lime Margarita. But with all those tequila options available, let the bartenders give you an education in agave.
