Despite being named after the fresh sugarcane style of rum originating in the French Caribbean islands, Bar Agricole is not a rum bar. The sleek, modern space and covered outdoor garden patio are a fine backdrop for a range of spirits and expertly executed cocktails, thanks to Thad Vogler and Eric Johnson. But standouts at Bar Agricole are (go figure) its rum cocktails: namely a classic Ti’ Punch, showing off rhum agricole to full effect. The staff is well-versed on all historic versions of a classic Daiquiri, playing with a range of rums.
THE DRINK TO DRINK:
The Ti’ Punch (short for petit punch), mixing cane syrup, rhum agricole and lime peel, properly showcases the fascinating grassy and funky elements often found in agricole rum.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
Brunch on the garden patio is one of the best ways to experience Bar Agricole, while sipping the brunch favorite Mary Pickford, with its white rum, pineapple gum syrup, lime, grenadine and maraska cherries.
