WHY HERE: The kitchen at Bad Hunter features vegetable-forward dishes, and this aspect pops up on the cocktail list, too. Try the Why So Serious? (Grey Goose vodka, espadín mezcal, Cocchi rosa aperitivo, white port, blood orange, sumac, lime and jalapeño) for a seasonal sip, then order the the beet French dip with dijon horseradish aioli and Emmental cheese to go with it. The wine list sings with winners, and you’ll find quality beers and ciders, too.
WHY NOW: After a serious kitchen fire in late 2018, the spot took care to rebuild without losing its cult-status charm. It’s expected to reopen in spring 2019.
