ANXO (pronounced Ahn-cho) Cidery & Pintxos (pronounced Peen-chos) Bar made its much-anticipated debut this summer. The city’s first cidery and cider-centric boîte is a collaborative effort from a group who worked at Meridian Pint together. Beverage director Tim Prendergast has curated a diverse lineup of ciders, with the focus on Spain’s Basque country, although all countries and regions are welcome as long as the cider is good, authentic drinking. Pintxos refer to the small Basque bites offered up on the bar’s countertop. ANXO has already released several exclusive cider collaborations and will soon be making its own, too.
THE DRINK TO DRINK: Cider, obviously. Try the tart, effervescent ANXO / Millstone Collaboration #1, or hone in on your personal cider palate with a flight.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The cider lineup is broken into flavor profiles to make for an easier selection, but don’t hesitate to ask the knowledgeable bar staff for advice.
