WHY HERE: This bar’s historic setting in a rustic yet cozy house just off the Freehand Hotel’s courtyard is the perfect respite. It’s a place to cavort or kick back with friends, local eats and cocktails. Those cocktails may be stiff and boozy, like the rum-and grapefruit-laden Black Sails, or take inspiration from the Sunshine State itself, like the ever-changing seasonal cobbler made with the daily garden harvest. A plate of the day’s catch crudo and house-made arepas help to accent the drinks while also satisfying your hunger.
WHY NOW: With handcrafted cocktails comprising freshly squeezed exotic fruits and other mix-ins, drinking in the tropics never tasted, or looked, so good. The bar comes from the Bar Lab crew behind famed cocktail spot Broken Shaker, so you should expect nothing less than greatness. The restaurant has upped its food menu game and specializes in locally sourced fish, vegetables and meats, making it not only a great place to get your drink on but to have dinner as well.
