Whether you’re in the mood for a cocktail cool-down or a straight-up sipper to enjoy by the water this summer, there’s a new spirit out there for you. This season, you’ll find everything from lime-flavored vodka to a crisp, Paloma-ready tequila. These are the six new bottles everybody will be talking about this summer.
Classic bottles like Beefeater are always in style, especially during the warmer months. Beefeater 24 was just named one of the best bottles for stocking your bar for summer. With rare Japanese sencha, Chinese green teas and grapefruit peel, which provide the freshness, the 24 Sour would be a perfect summer standby. For the perfect start to refreshing poolside cocktails or pre-cookout drinks, try the classic B&T made with Beefeater London Dry.
Who doesn’t love a bourbon with a fun backstory? Old Ripy features a “resurrection” of a label created by Irish immigrant James Ripy in 1868 and which ceased bottling in 1950. The spirit combines eight-year-old, 12-year-old and younger whiskey and is bottled at a whopping 104 proof, so be sure to reach for the branch water to dilute to taste.
The word tahona refers to the giant stone wheel traditionally used by tequila makers to crush agave hearts before they’re baked in the oven. Crisp and peppery, with a hint of citrus on the finish, this rustic unaged tequila is perfect for sipping or mixing into Palomas.
