Breakfast on the Boyne

Each ingredient brings another delicious element to this winner from the Slane Cocktail Series. There’s sweetness from sloe gin, a burst of citrus from lemon juice and bitterness from coffee liqueur. To tie it all together, bartender Natalie D. Lichtman uses triple-casked Irish whiskey.


  • 1 1/2 oz Slane Irish whiskey
  • 1/4 oz Coffee liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz Allspice dram
  • 3/4 oz Sloe gin
  • Garnish: Lemon peel


  1. Add all the ingredients except the gin into a shaker with ice and shake.

  2. Strain into a chilled rocks glass.

  3. Float the sloe gin over the top (so it settles at the bottom of the glass).
