This cocktail was created by Steven Lucas at Raised for Cognac Classics Week, presented by Liquor.com and Hennessy VSOP Privilège.
Cut off one third of the vanilla bean (reserve the rest for another use), scrape the seeds into a mixing glass, and add the remaining ingredients.
Fill with ice and stir.
Strain into a coupe, and garnish with an orange peel and the spent vanilla bean fragment.
Note: At the bar, Steven batches this drink in 4-liter batches and ages it in an oak barrel.
