Poached Pear & Ginger Daiquiri

For super intense flavor, poach your pears in a simple syrup flavored with warming winter spices like clove, cinnamon and star anise.


  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3 Tbsp spiced poached pear*
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger root
  • 1/2 ounce syrup from poached pears*


  1. Add all ingredients to a blender with a scoop of crushed ice.

  2. Blend until smooth.

  3. Pour into a footed or rocks glass.

*Spiced poached pears and syrup: Cut 1 pear into quarters. Submerge in simple syrup in a pot or saucepan over low heat and warm through. Add a pinch each of various spices like cardamom, star anise, vanilla, cinnamon and black peppercorns, according to personal preference. Keep over low heat for one hour. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely before using. Strain out solids and bottle. Will keep, tightly sealed and refrigerated, for up to one week.
