Nutty Ocho Rios

This cocktail from Shane Paule, the bar manager at Austin’s Isla, sports the usual good stuff found in a Mai Tai but with an additional scrumptious nutty layer of macadamia nut liqueur.


  • 1 oz White rum
  • 1 oz Jamaican rum
  • 3/4 oz Orgeat
  • 1/2 oz Lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Trader Vic’s macadamia nut liqueur
  • Fresh ground nutmeg
  • Garnish: Fresh ground nutmeg


  1. Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake.

  2. Pour into a hurricane glass over crushed ice, and sprinkle with fresh ground nutmeg.
