Horchata, rum and gin combine to create this enchantingly delicious drink.
Ingredients in The Moon and Antarctica Cocktail
- 1 oz Rhum Barbancourt 5 Star
- 1 oz Gin
- 1 oz Horchata*
- .5 oz Lemon juice
- .5 oz Lime juice
How to make The Moon and Antarctica Cocktail
Add all ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and double-strain into a Coupe glass filled with fresh shaved ice. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
- 8 tablespoons Rice
- 1 cup Blanched almonds
- .5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 2 strips Lime zest, without pith
- 3 cups Hot water
- 4 cups Cool water
- 1 to 1.5 cups Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
Place the rice in a blender or spice grinder and process until thoroughly pulverized. Transfer to a large bowl or pitcher and add the almonds, cinnamon and lime zest. Add the hot water, cover, and let stand overnight.
Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until mixture is as smooth. Add two cups of cool water and blend again until thoroughly combined. Strain the mixture through a strainer lined with fine cheesecloth into a bowl. Transfer to a pitcher and add the remaining two cups of cool water until the mixture is a smooth consistency. Add the sugar and vanilla extract, to taste. Cover and refrigerate.
