Add all ingredients except the club soda to a shaker and fill with ice.
Shake, and strain into a copper mug filled with fresh ice.
Top with club soda and garnish with a lemon wheel.
*Ginger simple syrup:INGREDIENTS: 5 cups Water 1 cup Sugar 1 (2-inch) piece Fresh ginger, finely chopped PREPARATION: Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat. Add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Place the ginger in a mesh strainer and pour the mixture over the top. Press the ginger with a muddler or the back of a spoon to remove as much liquid as possible.
