Possibly named for a World War I field gun, this classic drink packs a wallop.
- 1 1/2 oz Cognac or gin
- 3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 oz Simple syrup
- 1 oz Champagne
- Garnish: Lemon peel
Add all ingredients except the Champagne into a shaker with ice and shake well.
Fine-strain into a Champagne flute.
Top with Champagne.
Garnish with a long ribbon of lemon peel.
