Corn ’n’ Oil

This traditional drink from Barbados uses dark, oil-like blackstrap rum.


  • 2 oz Black strap or aged Barbados rum
  • 1/2 oz Falernum
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish: Lime wedge


  1. Combine rum, falernum, and lime juice in a rocks glass.

  2. Top with crushed or cracked ice.

  3. Add the bitters and stir ingredients until well chilled. The glass should be frosty.

  4. Top with bitters and serve with a lime wedge.
