Add all the ingredients to a pot, and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and serve in a coffee mug.
Garnish with a dehydrated pineapple slice and star anise.
*Barley syrup: Pour 1/2 cup barley into 2 cups water, and let sit overnight, then drain. In a saucepan, combine the barley with 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat, and let cool before using.
