This drink first appeared in Judge Jr.’s 1927 tome, “Here’s How.” Jim Meehan ups the lemon juice quotient a hair from the original, giving the luxurious notes of the Laird’s bonded apple brandy and maple syrup a bit more backbone.



  1. Add all the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.

  2. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

  3. Garnish with a lemon peel.
