Jay Gentile is an experienced journalist and editor whose work focuses on food, drinks and travel. He is based in Chicago. 


Gentile has held staff and freelance positions at a variety of major publications. His work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, CNN Travel, Lonely Planet, Paste Magazine, Thrillist, Vice and The Washington Post. Gentile has also contributed to several books, including Lonely Planet’s 50-state hardcover guidebook “The Unique States of America” as well as “Where Traveler’s Guide to Chicago.” 


Gentile has a bachelor of science in journalism from the University of Illinois.
