“Galliano is a unique blend of flavors conveniently contained in one bottle,” says Will Benedetto, the beverage director for IGC Hospitality Group in New York City. “It can be a great solution to making any stirred drink more unique while maintaining consistency. Substituting Galliano for simple syrup in a traditional Old Fashioned is a great way to explore its possibilities.” That’s exactly what he does in this cocktail, a take on a Oaxaca Old Fashioned. “The deep vanilla and roasted agave notes of quality tequila and mezcals are a great match for Galliano,” he says.
