Cody McDevitt is an award-winning journalist and author based in Pittsburgh, specializing in local history and culture.

McDevitt has covered Pittsburgh-area news, arts and culture, and drinks since 2013. His work has appeared in Mt. Lebanon Magazine, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pittsburgh Quarterly and Table Magazine. He first wrote for Liquor.com in 2017.

He's the co-author of "Pittsburgh Drinks: A History of Cocktails, Nightlife and Bartending Tradition" and author of "Banished from Johnstown: Racist Backlash in Pennsylvania." In 2018, he won a Golden Quill award from the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania. His work has also been recognized by the Pennsylvania Newsmedia Association and Pennsylvania Associated Press Media Editors Organization.
