In this deceptively simple cocktail, Daniel Warrilow, the Italian portfolio ambassador at Campari America, tops a generous pour of Averna amaro with a high-quality lemon soda for an Italian-inspired highball. The bitter liqueur’s relatively low ABV renders this drink perfect for sunny-afternoon sipping.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces Averna 

  • 4 ounces lemon soda (such as San Pellegrino Limonata)

  • Garnish: lemon wheel

  • Garnish: sage leaf

Steps

  1. Add the Averna and lemon soda into a Collins glass with ice and stir gently to combine. 

  2. Garnish with a lemon wheel and sage leaf.
