You Can Sleep in a Giant Wine Barrel in Washington Wine Country

Contributed by

If you’ve ever been inside a wine cellar, you know what a serene, relaxing place it can be. You’re surrounded by the faint smell of wine and wood, the temperature is cool, and the lighting is dim. Who wouldn’t want to curl up and take a nap? Now, you can.

Visitors to the southeastern wine region of Washington state can now sleep in a 1,000-gallon wine barrel, renovated to host up to two people who want to cozy up inside the snug space. The barrel has both heating and air conditioning and actually acts as an extra room next to a larger cottage that sleeps four. The property is located just a few miles from downtown Walla Walla.

The expansive, beautifully groomed grounds also host a saltwater pool, a firepit and plenty of room for entertaining. This might be the perfect Pacific Northwest wine vacation you’ve been looking for.
