Finger Lakes Wine Flour is now producing wine flours, using merlot, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, riesling, gerwurztraminer and a red blend. The flours arei made from the leftover pulp from traditional winemaking and are booming in popularity, boasting benefits like antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. While you can’t exclusively use wine flour when you’re baking, the company suggests using it as a supplement, and to compliment sauces.
The New York-based company makes crackers, cupcakes and truffles from the flours and plans to release three more flavors soon. Currently, an 8-ounce bag costs $14. Gluten-free devotees, rejoice!
