We’re still heartbroken about the Most Interesting Man’s departure from this earth. It’s been nearly two months since the news broke, and we still haven’t recovered. But an invitation arrived today that brought a smile to our faces, a glimmer of sunshine in this vale of tears.
Dos Equis, it seems, is inviting us all to the Most Interesting Man’s Estate Auction, where it will part with some of his most iconic treasures. (An antique diving bell and a gorgeous flamenco guitar are among the featured items.) “Expect complimentary Dos Equis throughout the evening, curious and peculiar hors d’oeuvres, live exotic animals, incredible photo ops and guest appearances from some of the the Most Interesting Man’s most esteemed friends,” reads the invitation.
The event, hosted by the Man’s “friend and confidant Tommy O’ Sullivan III,” will be held in Los Angeles at the suitably opulent Park Plaza. Curiously, the invitation references the wildlife charity The Impact Plan but tells guests to leave their wallets at home because “the only currency you’ll need is your thirst for interesting!” [sic]
Sadly, we wouldn’t bet on an appearance by Jonathan Goldsmith, the man behind the Man. After all, we all watched the Man blast off on his way to Mars, and even he couldn’t be in two places at once.
