When You Can’t Choose Between Beer and Wine, This Hybrid Is For You

The best days are the ones where the toughest decision you have to make is what to drink. But the next time you’re waffling between beer and wine, just choose Dogfish Head’s new Mixed Media ale and call it a day.

The ferment is 51 percent grains and 49 percent late-harvest viognier grapes, making the bottle as close to wine as legally possible.

“By blending the two seemingly opposite worlds of beer and wine together, we’ve discovered that they collide quite nicely and the combination of the two adds an additional thread of flavor and a layer of complexity to the mix,” says Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione.

This isn’t Dogfish Head’s first foray into wine-beer mixes. Midas Touch was originally released in 1999 and uses white muscat grapes in its mix. It’s said to be a favorite of chardonnay drinkers.

Cheers to indecision.
